This title will be similar to the games in the handheld series meaning battles, random encounters, and other classic elements. Nintendo and Game Freak also stated that they are in interested in trying some new things with these titles as well as adhering to some franchise traditions. We also know that this game will take place in the new Galar Region.
Honest Game Trailers - Pokemon Sword and Shield
The timing is a bit peculiar here - Sword and Shield launched last year and the latest expansion pack, The Crown Tundra, launched in October - but it doesn't matter, the trailer is downright lovely. Though the games' graphics have drawn some criticism, I've always enjoyed the look of the environments, and the Attenborough impersonator does a great job enchanting with their dulcet tones and vivid descriptions of the world's flora and fauna. Seriously, check it out if you fancy yourself a nap. Or, since this is probably more what Nintendo intended, maybe the new trailer will inspire you to pick up Sword or Shield as a last-minute gift for someone or yourself.
Awards & Rankings
Not only did the trailer show off more of the returning Pokemon, including the Galarian variants of the legendary bird trio Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno. Surprisingly, the trailer also featured new gameplay from The Crown Tundra and eagle eyed fans think they may have potentially discovered a brand new Pokemon. While the latest Pokemon Sword and Shield trailer was only posted on its Japanese channel, it was still chock full of information for all players to enjoy. Surprisingly, the backhalf of the trailer featured plenty of new details for The Crown Tundra , the second planned expansion pack due out later this year. In this expansion, players will be taken to a new snow covered region to join an exploration team to discover what's inside Pokemon Dens. One particular scene in the trailer features what appears to be another trainer players will face off against. However, the person's helmet features a logo based on what many are calling a new pocket monster, something that has yet to be seen in any of the previous games in the franchise. There's still a lot of time left before this expansion is ready for release, though this could potentially be the start of a slow tease. In fact, this isn't the first time the logo has been seen. The mysterious logo was also present on the helmet though with the cut cuts and moving camera, it wasn't nearly as visible as it is in this latest gameplay trailer.
While fans shouldn't expect a Nintendo Direct-style presentation, a trailer showcasing the new content is very likely.
